He speaks in measured tones, as if every sentence is part of a larger thesis. Those few who’ve encountered him describe him as eerily precise, preternaturally informed, and possessed of a deep, unsettling calm. Despite his withdrawn lifestyle, he’s an exceptional conversationalist on matters of history, theology, mortality, and the human condition—should you be lucky, or unlucky, enough to earn an audience.
